To oversee the operations of the 2008 Summer School Program for Middle and High School students

Responsibilities include:

  • Hiring

Math Developer Elementary

 The successful candidate will possess:

  • A thorough familiarity with NYS Math standards, grades K-6

  • A comprehensive understanding of NYS assessment system and analysis of instructional data

  • Considerable experience as a teacher leader, mentor and/or coach


Chairperson Committee on Special Education/ Preschool Special Education

The successful candidate will possess:

  • experience as an active member of the Committee on Special  education and/or Preschool Special education

  • comprehensive knowledge of IDEA Legislation, Part 200 regulations and Section 504 requirements

  • demonstrated capacity for collaborative decision making

  • outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

SAS or SDA certification required


Elementary Second Language Program Coordinator

 The successful candidate will possess:

  • experience with second language learners as a teacher and/or administrator

  • expertise in the areas of foreign language instruction, dual language programs and English as a Second Language instruction

  • ability to work collaboratively with staff, principals and parents

  • outstanding verbal and written communication skills

SAS or SDA certification required


Middle School Principal

Effective July 1, 2008

The successful candidate will possess:

  • the ability to lead the district in the planning and preparation for the transition of the 6th grade to an expanded and renovated middle school facility

  • knowledge of the Essential Elements of Standards-Focused Middle Level Schools and Programs

  • the ability to utilize data to inform instruction and improve student achievement

  • demonstrated capacity for consensus-driven decision making through collaboration with staff, parents and students  

SAS certification required


Director of Pupil Personnel Services

Effective July 1, 2008

The successful candidate will possess:

  • knowledge of all laws and regulations governing students with disabilities, ages 3-21

  • the ability to operationalize an effective academic intervention services system

  • the ability to use data to ensure continuous programmatic growth and improvement

  • experience with supervision and evaluation of programs and staff

  • collaboration skills which effectively engage principals, staff and parents 

SDA certification required


Assistant Superintendent for Business

Effective July 1, 2008

The successful candidate will possess:

  • ability to manage and control a $60 million budget

  • knowledge of operations pertaining to buildings and grounds, transportation and food services

  • experience with oversight of school construction projects

  • knowledge of civil service rules and regulations

SDA or SBA certification required


Grant-Funded Program Coordinator

Responsibilities include:
preparation of competitive and entitlement grants
identification of new funding sources and opportunities
monitoring and preparation of final reports and oversight of program evaluations
administration of K-12 after-school program
after-school program development and evaluation
supervision of after-school staff
coordination of services with after-school staff and community agencies

Qualifications:
certification as school administrator required
experience as grant writer required
experience in educational setting preferred


Senior Account Clerk
Full-time [35 hours per week] 12 month position
Must take and pass civil service exam
Salary:  $42,000 - $46,400
