Indoor Track

On Sunday, January 21^st, the boys’ and girls’ indoor track team competed in the Westchester County Championships at the Armory.  Andrea Geiger was the big winner placing 3rd in the 55m dash.  Genevieve Ruppel ran a personal best in the 55m (7.6).  Alex Silverman clocked the fastest 400m (55.5) split in the 1600m relay, while an injured Chris Coronel helped out the relay team in (56.7).  (posted 1/23/07)

On Friday, January 12^th, the Boys’ Track team competed at the League Championships.  The boys’ 1600m relay team, consisting of Alex Silverman, Brad Becker-Parton, Carlos Bringas and Michael Wu, placed second and received All-League Honorable Mention.  Alex Silverman ran a personal best (55.8) in that race.  Once again, Will McCabe broke his personal record in the 1600m running 5:36.  Welinthon Diaz placed 3rd in the shot put with a throw of 42' 5.75".  Our next meet is Sunday, January 21^st at the Armory.  Races start at 9am.  (posted 1/17/07)

The Girls’ Track and Field team did a spectacular job at the Sprint Medley Relay meet held at RCC on Tuesday, January 9th.  Andrea Gieger, In-Hye Erstling, Clare Zegarelli and Emily Santana came in first place in their heat for the Junior Relay.  Excellent first time running performance by Danielle Fanelli in the 400 meters and personal records were broken by Emily Santana, Natalie Zaremba, Eva Kramer, Valentina Guzzo and Angela Martello.  The next meet is on Friday, January 12^th.  (posted 1/10/07)

On Friday, January 5th, the Boys’ Track Team competed at the Rockland Invitational.  Will McCabe broke his personal best in the 1600m.  Eric Ross ran the fastest 200m for the horsemen in 25.3 while Alex Silverman had the fastest 400m time (58.0).  (posted 1/10/07)

On Tuesday, January 9th, the Boys’ Track Team competed at the Sprint Medley Meet.  Again, both Eric Ross (200m) and Alex Silverman (400m) ran the top times for the Horsemen, 25.3 & 56.1, respectively.  Welinthon Diaz and Kareem Ishmail also had personal bests in the 200m.  Our next meet is Friday, January 12th @ RCC.  The boys’ team will be competing in the League Championships.  (posted 1/10/07)

Congratulations to the Girls' Track team for their outstanding performance at the freshman/sophomore meet this past Friday, December 15th.  Outstanding performances by all athletes, especially Genevieve Ruppel for placing 1st in the LJ and Sarah Kelly for placing 9th.  Also, Genevieve Ruppel placed 4th in the 55 meters and Sarah Kelly placed 10th.  Finally, the girls’ 8oo meter relay team, Kim Klami, Dara Brennan, Sarah Kelly, and Genevieve Ruppel, placed 2nd overall.  The next meet is scheduled for January 5th, 2007.  Come and support our athletes.  (posted 12/18/06)

On Friday, the Boys’ Indoor Track team competed in the Freshmen / Sophomore Meet at RCC.  Will McCabe and Sam Schnog both set personal records in the 1600m run.  The boys also did well in the 800m & 3200m Relays.  The next meet is January 5th at RCC.  (posted 12/18/06)

The Girls’ Track and Field team had their first meet on December 9, 2006 at the Armory.  Congratulations to Andrea Geiger for receiving her personal best and for placing 5th in the 55 meters with a time of 7.5 seconds.  Another big congratulations goes to our distance runners, Clare Zegarelli and Adrienne Merheb, for receiving their personal best in the 1500 meters.  Lastly, the girls’ 800 meter relay team, Andrea Geiger, Sarah Kelly, Genevieve Ruppel, and Rosa Bauer-Moshi received 4th place with a time of 1:56.1.  Congratulations to all athletes for a terrific first meet! The Boys’ Track team kicked off the 2006-07 season with a bang.  Welinthon Diaz placed 4th in the shot put with a throw of 43' 0".  The boys’ 800m relay team did quite well with Alex Silverman leading the way with the fastest 200m split.  William McCabe and Sam Schnog both set personal records in the 1600m run.  Our next meet is Friday, December 15th at RCC.
