your child to attend. Please fill them out completely. These

before your child may start.

Please carefully read over the Parent Handbook which
details information regarding our policies.
Homework
We
provide a quiet time and place in which children are encourage
to do their homework. Our staff will explain directions to a
child who doesn't understand, but we are not a private tutoring
service. We do not provide one to one assistance. You may
contact the school district for academic assistance.
Activities
We
understand the children have had a long day and may just want to
socialize with friends or run around to blow off steam.
“School’s Out” follows the mood of the children. The aim of
“School’s Out” is be "loosely structured." Each day, children
have the opportunity to choose from a variety of activities
including the arts, organized games, large and small motor
activities, dramatic and outdoor play. In addition, each child
may participate in one of the “School’s Out” Enrichment classes.
Late Pick-Up
There will be a
fifteen-minute grace period allowed for late pick up, after
which a $15.00 fee will be assessed for every fifteen minutes
you are late. Excessive lateness will result in your child’s
dismissal from the program.
Health Forms
Upon registration, your must complete a YMCA health form and a
state medical form which requires a doctor’s signature. A copy
of your child’s immunization record must also be submitted.
Taxes
For tax purposes, please keep all receipts. The YMCA will
not be responsible for written documentation beyond original
receipts. Our tax identification number is 13-1740516.
FAQ
Can I drop
off payment at my child's site?
No,
unfortunately staff cannot take responsibility for your
payments. Please mail them or bring them to the Family YMCA at
Tarrytown,
62 Main Street,
Tarrytown, NY 10591.
Can I pay by
the hour?
No.
We have too many children to account for, therefore our fee
structure does not allow an hourly payment.
Can I switch
my child's regular day?
Yes. Permanent changes can always be made whether you are
changing days, or adding and/or subtracting days. You can also
make extended temporary changes. For example: Your mother will
be in town for a month and the children will be going home after
school, or you will be working additional hours for three
months, and would like to return to your normal schedule
thereafter. Check everything out with the Site Coordinator or
call Nicole Bernardone at x24. You may not switch days or
make up absences. You may add days, but only with prior OK from
the Site Coordinator. This may result in your child waiting for
you in the office. In an emergency, please beep the Site
Coordinator and get a verbal OK.
My child needs one-on-one assistance with homework. Do you
offer such assistance?
No. We do
provide homework time, a room or area is made conducive to
learning and a staff member is available to answer basic
questions or help with instructions, but we will not teach a
skill your child has not yet mastered. Please contact the TUFSD
Administration Office or your child’s school Principal for
further information.
Can you
check my child's book bag and make sure she has everything she
needs?
No.
Your child has a right to her privacy and we will not invade
book bags.
How does the
billing work, do you send a statement each month?
No.
Payments are due the beginning of each month. Statements are
periodically sent to ensure we are all on the same page, but it
is your responsibility to call with questions or problems.
Payment books are available, ask your Site Coordinator.
