Headless Horseman, "Legend of Sleepy Hollow"
This year's, High School ESL- Avanza Art class used the "Legend of Sleepy Hollow" which they read in English class as a painting theme.  Each student created a tempera/ watercolor painting on 24x36" paper which depicted their interpretation of what the Headless Horseman looked like.  When the paintings were completed, each student created an artists statement about the process they followed and finally a brief summation of what the story of the "Legend of Sleepy Hollow" meant to them.
