Summer Camp Information

MULTI ARTS CAMP
Mondays-Thursdays
July 10-27 9 am-12:00 pm
Location: Morse School
Grades K-4

Activities include a mix of music, theater, movement and visual arts.

Each day, children will rotate through three different activities.  they will engage in a weekly art project each day, and also explore age appropriate theater games, storytelling, creative movement or dance, musical games and other fun activities.  children will be actively engaged each day. 

Faculty will include a mix of  professional artists and district music and arts staff. Children will be grouped by age, and each group will be accompanied by a high school counselor.

TADA! THEATER CAMP
Monday-Friday
July 24-28 ONE WEEK 10 am—3 pm
Location: Morse School
Grades 4 - 6
Performance: July 28 at 1:30pm

A lively week of musical theater led by NYC’s renowned children’s theater company, TADA! Website:  www.tadatheater.com.

Program culminates with a musical theater performance.
Participants will:

• Work with a professional director/choreographer AND musical director
• Practice character portrayals
• Stage musical numbers
• Learn physical warm-ups, body awareness, breath control, vocal projection, diction and rhythm
• Learn how acting, dancing and singing come together on stage
• Build confidence
• Have a great time!

OPEN CALL DRAMA CAMP

June 26 - 30 ONE WEEK 9:30 am-2:30pm
Location:  Morse School
Grades 4 - 6

Want to have a “dramatic” summer? “The play’s the thing!” Join Peter Royston in an
exploration of drama, play-making & storytelling. Participants will:

• Learn the basics of blocking, projection and character exploration
• Become “drama detectives” by searching for clues in a script to decipher character portrayals
• Act, direct and criticize scenes from famous plays and movies
• Get a workout with high energy theatre games
• Learn how to work together in an ensemble
• Explore the basics of costume, mask and set design
• Learn improvisation techniques and the basics of stage combat
• Gain confidence
• Have fun!

The Village of Tarrytown Recreation and the Village of Sleepy Hollow Recreation have combined to form The Tarrytown / Sleepy Hollow Summer Camps.

The Director of the Summer Camps will be Mike McCoy.

TOT CAMP

For the TOT CAMP, you must sign up for a minimum of 2 consecutive weeks. 

DAY CAMP

For the DAY CAMP, you must sign up for a minimum of 2 consecutive weeks. 

SPORTS CLINIC

For the SPORTS CLINIC, you may sign up for one week at a time.
