What are the hours?
There will be a 2 ˝ hour morning and a 2 ˝ hour afternoon session, Monday
through Friday. Your child
will be assigned to one or the other. Preference of morning or afternoon will
be taken into consideration but is not guaranteed. The times will be
approximately 9:30-12 noon and 1:00-3:30 pm, based on last years Pre-K schedule.
How many spots are available?
36 in total. 18 students per class.
If there are more applicants
than spots what will the selection process be?
We will go to a "systematic" lottery system in order to create somewhat balanced
classes. The lottery system will go into effect if we have more applicants that
spots available on the cut-off date of Friday, August 11. Consideration may
be given to “first come” applicants. Information such as income is requested in
the event of lottery to achieve a balance in the classes based on socio-economic
status of families.
What are the extended childcare
options?
We are planning on providing extended care. Before school for children in the
a.m. class and after school for those in the p.m. Details are still being
worked out. Parents will be responsible for dropping off before school and
picking up from the after school for extended care options. Bus service will
not be available.
Will there be bus
transportation?
Yes. Details to follow.
Who will be the Teacher and
Teaching Assistant?
A
NYS Certified teacher and assistant will be hired shortly. There are several
promising applicants and the review process has begun.
When will you know if your
child got in?
Applications are due by 8/11. Parents will be notified of acceptance no
later than the last week of August.
