• Student Musicians to Perform at All-State Festival

Fifteen Sleepy Hollow High School students have been chosen to participate in this year’s Westchester County School Music Association (WCSMA) Area All-State Festival. The students will perform in the Mixed Chorus, Woman’s Chorus, String Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra and Band.

The students are: Devin Batheja, Sarah Clayton, Mary Delvecchio, Julie Friedman, Brandan Gianni, Tess Kaplan, Patrick Leavy, Asana Love, Acacia Mcdonough, Marty Povman, Connor Quinn-Ray, Lucy Rogers, Gabriel Sherry, Helen Tejada, and Cori Trenczer. They represent Westchester County’s top vocal performers and musicians in the 10th-12th grades. They were chosen after participating in the New York State School Musical Association (NYSSMA) Solo Festival in the Spring.

The All-State Festival will take place on Thursday, November 16th at Purchase College beginning at 8PM. Performing Arts Department Chairman Micah Sprague said he is honored so many students were selected. “It is a testament to the commitment and hard work of our students, staff, and community,” Sprague said.

WCSMA represents more than 450 music educators in public, private and parochial schools whose goal is to improve music programs in Westchester.
