    5/26 Update regarding ACT exams:

    ACT is closely working with test site administrators and monitoring guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), state government, and local public health guidelines. We are preparing to support test centers who are cleared to administer the ACT on June 13, 2020.

    During the week of May 26, we will notify students and announce all test center closures and cancelations for the June 13 test date. However, as ACT and other agencies navigate ongoing developments, testing at any test center is subject to change at any time between now and June 13, 2020.

    You may receive a notification from your school about the status of testing. Please note you will also receive an official notification from ACT with important instructions and next steps.

    If at any time you prefer to move your ACT registration to the July 18, 2020 ACT national test, you may change your registration, without a change fee, by signing into your account.

    5/4 Update:

    Cancellation of Senior Prom: We regret to inform you that due to the extension of the school closure, the shelter in place ordinance, and social distancing guidelines, prom scheduled for May 21st is cancelled. Dr. Smith is working with our senior class advisors to plan an alternative senior celebration tentatively scheduled for the summer. The senior class advisors will communicate with the senior class regarding refunds and additional information. We are also working on creative alternatives for our Rose Ceremony, Awards Night, and graduation. We understand how disappointing this is for our seniors. Please know that we plan to provide the class of 2020 with a memorable and significant celebration of their achievements. More details are to come. 

    If it’s safe from a public health standpoint, we’ll provide weekend SAT administrations every month through the end of the calendar year, beginning in August. This includes a new administration on September 26 and the previously scheduled tests on August 29, October 3, November 7, and December 5.

    Students can register for these administrations starting in May. We’ll contact students directly during the week of May 26 to provide an exact date. Eligible students can register with a fee waiver.

    For each administration, we’re preparing to significantly expand our capacity for students to take the SAT once schools reopen. We’re calling on our member schools and colleges, as well as local communities, to provide additional test center capacity so every student who wants to take the SAT can do so.

    Students can get early access to register for August, September, and October if they’re:

    • Already registered for June
    • In the high school class of 2021 and don’t have SAT scores


    4/22 Update:

    Today we received the following from the WESEF Board: After careful consideration and assessment of the current situation regarding COVID-19, we regret to inform you that the decision has been made to cancel Regeneron-WESEF 2020. While it is unfortunate that we are not going to be able to provide the opportunity for your students to present at the Regeneron-WESEF this year,  we want to congratulate all of the participants on completing and submitting such impressive work. Please mark your calendars for WESEF 2021 as it will take place on March 20th, 2021 and we look forward to seeing you all there.  


    4/21 Update:  

    Due to the governor extending school closures until May 18, we will unfortunately need to cancel the May performances of the HS Musical.  It is with deep regret that we have come to this decision. Additional information, including ticket refunds, may be found here. 

    June SAT Exams have been cancelled.  For up to date information, please check the College Board website.


    4/7 Update: 

    The State Education Department announced the cancellation of the June 2020 administration of Regents Exams and today released guidance on modifications to requirements for students to graduate and earn their high school diplomas, credentials and endorsements. More information may be found here. 

    An updated schedule for AP exams has been released by The CollegeBoard.  More information may be found here. Students should regularly check their CollegeBoard accounts that they used to register for the exams. The CollegeBoard will communicate with students via that account AND students will take their exams via that account. If they are not regularly checking in, they are missing valuable information and the remote possibility of not taking their exam.  If you are in need of a device to take the exam, as the exams will be administered online this year, pleaseemail your AP teachers or contact Mrs. Pat Bonitatibus at pbonitatibus@tufsd.org or Mr. Carlos Franco at cfranco@tufsd.org directly and as soon as possible.


    3/25 Update:

    NYSSMA Spring Festivals have been cancelled. Therefore, the NYSSMA Spring Festival,  originally scheduled for 4/24 & 4/25 at SHHS, has been cancelled.
