Superintendent Search

  • The TUFSD Board of Education commenced its search for the next Superintendent of Schools in November of 2022 upon learning of Superintendent Borsari’s intent to retire at the end of the 2022-23 school year. We are dedicated to working with and on behalf of our community to find an outstanding educational leader to serve as our next Superintendent beginning July 1, 2023. 

    On Friday, December 21, 2022, the Board issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a search firm. The Board reviewed several RFPs and, at its meeting on February 9, 2023, announced that it has retained the search firm Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates (HYA). The district has engaged this firm in the past and, after review of several proposals, agreed to retain them for this next engagement. We believe that their familiarity with our district and past experience here will contribute to a successful collaboration. The Board is working with HYA to quickly determine next steps, which include agreeing to and posting a timeline with additional information and key dates in the search process.

    We will continue to share updates on the status of the search during the BoE meetings and on this page. Please don't hesitate to reach out to board members with any additional questions or concerns.

Seeking Community Input

  • The Board would like to receive your input on the desired characteristics and skills that you would like to see in the next superintendent.  We, therefore, invite you to participate in this process through two important feedback mechanisms, attending one of two open community forums and by completing an online survey.  Additional information about these two opportunities is detailed below:

Superintendent Search Timeline

  • December 23, 2022: The Board issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a search firm.
    February 9, 2023: Having reviewed several RFPs, the Board announced that it has retained the search firm Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates (HYA). 
    February 23, 2023: The Board held their first meeting with HYA.
    March 7, 2023: The Board shared a letter with the community, seeking their feedback through a community survey and a Community Forum. 
    February 24, 2023 through March 14, 2023: HYA leads multiple focus groups with district staff and the community
    March 14, 2023: HYA will hold two community forums (9:30 AM and 7:30 PM) to seek community input. 
    March 23, 2023: Leadership Profile presentation by HYA at Board of Education meeting
