Registration K-12

The Public Schools of the Tarrytowns welcomes all school-age students who reside in the district’s boundaries. To register a new student, please contact the District Registrar at 914-332-6272.

Appointments are required and paperwork must be completed prior to the registration appointment.  The registration office is located at the District Administration Building at 200 North Broadway, Sleepy Hollow, NY 10591.

Incoming Kindergarteners

For Pre-K registrations and/or questions please contact the John Paulding school directly at 914-631-5526.

Kindergarten mass registrations for the following school year are typically scheduled in January/February at the John Paulding school building. Children who turn 5 years of age by December 1 are eligible to enter kindergarten that school year. Immunizations must be complete prior to the start of kindergarten, even if a student’s 5th birthday occurs after the start of the school year. Families who are unable to attend a mass registration or who move into the district during the summer prior to the start of the school year, must enroll their children via central registration. To request a Kindergarten Registration packet, please contact the District Registrar’s office at 914-332-6272. Please visit the JP homepage here for more information, or contact a JP school building staff member at 914-631-5526.

PLEASE NOTE:  It typically takes 2 business days after an appointment to process a registration. During peak seasons (Summer), it could take up to 5 business days to complete the registration process after your appointment. We appreciate your patience and understanding during these times.

The McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act of 1987 provides protections for students who are living in a shelter, car, park, bus, train, campsite, other temporary living situation, or with another person or family, due to loss of housing as a result of economic hardship or natural disaster. Students protected under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act are entitled to immediate enrollment in school, even if they do not have the documents normally required, such as proof of residency, school records, immunization records, or birth certificate. These students may also be entitled to other services. Parents or guardians who believe their child may be eligible should complete the “Student Residency Questionnaire” in the Registration Packet.
