    “The pictures match the beat of the music.” This is how Mia Jgarkava described what she heard and Observed January 14 during her Exploratory Music class. The eighth-graders watched commercials and portions of podcasts paying special attention to the musical tracks underneath.   • Lunch Buddy

    “Welcome to Lunch Buddies!” Seventh-grade students received that warm welcome from Special Education teacher Stephanie Castillo as they walked into her classroom. The students have volunteered to be part of the Lunch Buddy program at Sleepy Hollow Middle School. Every other day students from the general education population eat their lunch and then play games with special education students from Ms. Castillo’s and Kelly Whelan’s classes. The program is in its second year.

    On Friday, December 21, students in all grades participated in Hour of Code during their math classes at SHMS. The Hour of Code is the largest learning event in history.   • Student Musicians Honored

    The Sleepy Hollow Performing Arts Department is proud to have numerous students selected for all county ensembles for grades six through nine. Once again, Sleepy Hollow will host the Pre-Festival Rehearsals for the All-County Chorus. Gail Persad has been working to coordinate this event with the Westchester County School Music Association for the past six years. She has hosted over 300 students from around the County for these rehearsals, showcasing our magnificent facility!
