    Paws for Learning: WI Students Meet Service Dogs

    Meet Logan and Haven, honorary WI students for the day!  These service dogs, along with their trainers from BluePath Service Dogs, educated the students in their role as service dogs for children with autism.

    Third Graders at Washington Irving Go on an Epic Adventure with the Earth Dome!

    Third graders at Washington Irving had the opportunity to experience The Earth Dome, thanks to a grant from the PTA! This giant inflatable earth balloon stands 19-feet high and 22-feet in diameter, and is made of 24 huge panels silkscreened with photographs shot from satellites of the surface of the world.  It truly is a unique educational tool that offers an immersive experience for students to learn about the geography and environmental issues of the world.

  • WI March Madness Student Assembly

    March Madness: Tournament of Books at WI Fuels Excitement for Reading and Character-Building

    On March 1st, Washington Irving kicked off their March Madness: Tournament of Books with a fun basketball-themed assembly.  Run similar to the NCAA College March Madness, the Tournament of Books features 16 books that support the Horsemen Pride Character Ed themes, which are values that the school promotes to help students develop positive character traits.
