  • United Way Donation

    School Superintendent Christopher Borsari made a special visit to John Paulding the last day of school, to kick off the summer in a great way! All the kindergarten/rising first graders received a bag filled with literacy activities thanks to a partnership with the United Way. Each bag included several books, activity sheets, learning cards and resources from community organizations to support our youngest learners and their literacy development.

  • John Paulding Animal Habitat

    Pandas, cheetahs, lemurs – just a few of the animals that found a new home at John Paulding when kindergarten students created replicas of habitats, now displayed in their school. Not only did the students research the geography and environment, each class adopted an animal through the World Wildlife Federation and received a certificate, book and plush toy.

    Thirty years ago, kindergarten teacher Mary Jo Daley started her journey in the Public Schools of the Tarrytowns as a second-grade teacher at W.L. Morse. Daley said in her class was a very smart, happy boy named Moshe Cohen. Fast forward to May, 2019… Daley’s son JD Daley, a Technology Assistant at Sleepy Hollow Middle School and Sleepy Hollow High School, came home from the Math and Science Honor Society Induction Awards Ceremony last month and said he was very impressed by one of the speakers. You guessed it, it was Moshe Cohen!
