  • Panel Discussion Brings SHHS Students, Medical School Students Together To Discuss Different Paths Into Field of Medicine

    Sleepy Hollow High School students recently had the incredible opportunity to attend a Zoom panel discussion with current medical students. The event was hosted by the Science Honor Society. The panelists, who included three M2 (second-year) New York Medical College students as well as one who is in the middle of their residency, discussed their journeys to medical school and their experiences thus far before answering a series of student questions. This discussion gave students who are interested in pursuing a career in medicine or simply curious about the field a chance to hear firsthand accounts from medical students who come from a variety of backgrounds.

  • Second Dose of the Pediatric Pfizer Clinic

    This is a reminder that the second dose of the pediatric Pfizer clinic will be administered on December 20th and 21st from 3:30pm-7:30pm. You do not need to sign up for your appointment for this second dose. If your child received their first dose on November 29th, their second dose will be given on December 20th. If your child received their first dose on November 30th, their second dose will be given on December 21st. You are encouraged to keep your same appointment time; however, if you can not keep your same time, walk-ins will be accepted. This clinic will also be providing Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson boosters, walk-ins are welcome.

  • Starbooks Cafe Showcases Early Readers and Writers

    Kindergarten students in Meggan Mangiacotti’s and Elyse Macchi’s class were the generous hosts of the 3rd annual Starbooks event, a cafe style setting complete with greeters, food distributors and cashiers. Several students participated in the ‘live mic portion of the event by reading books that they created and illustrated. Topics, all chosen by each student based on what is important/interesting to them, ranged from New York City to soccer, dangerous animals to marching bands.

  • Four Tarrytown Students Showcase Their Musicianship in NYSSMA Winter Conference 

    From December 2nd through 5th, four Sleepy Hollow High School students participated in the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Winter Conference in Rochester, New York. NYSSMA is the premier music education program in New York and regularly hosts performances by and competitions featuring some of the best young musicians in the state, making this a particularly noteworthy achievement for our students. They were accompanied by SHMHS Choral Instructor Gail Persad and SHHS Band Director and Music Production teacher Austin Day.

    JP PreK Lottery Applications 2022-2023 are available online or by dropping by to John Paulding. The enrollment window for the lottery is 12/2/21 through 2/11/22. We will accept all applications for PreK at any time after 12/2/21. Please note that those applications submitted and date stamped by 2/11/22 stamped will be included in the February/March lottery. Those received after 2/11/22 will be automatically waitlisted. Best of luck to all!
