We look forward to seeing you this weekend for our upcoming performances of Bye Bye Birdie, our High School Spring Musical! Performances will be held: Friday, March 24, 7:00 PM, Saturday, March 25, 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM, and Sunday, March 26, 2:00 PM. We hope to see you there!

Sleepy Hollow Middle School and Sleepy Hollow High School orchestral members were treated to an intimate performance by the world class chamber music group The Sitkovetsky Trio at the David Rockefeller Creative Arts Center over the Winter Recess.

8th Grade Peer Leaders Spark Joy and Creativity in Sixth Grade FLEX Classes for Lunar New Year
Stories of Asian culture were shared by the eighth grade Peer Leadership group with sixth grade FLEX classes in celebration of Lunar New Year. The eighth grade students’ interactive lectures included photos and descriptions about the impressive collection of Asian artwork and decor at Caramoor, as well as Asian history and culture that they researched back at school.

Kindergarteners, 1st and 2nd graders marked the 100th day of school on Monday with creative and classic crafts to mark the occasion. On this milestone day our youngest learners celebrate 100 days of discovery, progress, and growth.

Kahlo Inspired Portraits Grand Unveiling!
The young artists put finishing touches on their Frida Kahlo inspired self-portraits, painting the beautiful unique details about themselves in vibrant colors that best represent them. Kahlo was often quoted as saying she paints herself most frequently because, “I am the person I know best.” The same could be said for our Morse first graders.

Shadow and Substance, Student Magazine at SHHS, Recognized as a Magazine of “Excellence”
We are overjoyed to celebrate the creativity and tireless efforts of the students at Sleepy Hollow High School through their literary magazine, Shadow and Substance. Their work has recently been nationally recognized by the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) in their annual Recognizing Excellence in Art and Literary Magazines (REALM) contest.

Superintendent Student Council Engages in Candid Conversation
The administration for the Public Schools of the Tarrytowns wants to get a finger on the pulse of what students think about their school - what they value, as well as what could be done better. These are the questions that led to the formation of the Tarrytown Student Superintendent Council, which will hold periodic meetings with Superintendent Borsari and Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and Equity Felipe Orozco.

UPK Lottery Applications Accepted through February 14
Applications are still being accepted for the Elizabeth Mascia Child Care Center's Full-Day UPK Program in partnership with the Public Schools of the Tarrytowns. This full-day PreK Program is funded by the New York State Education Department and has an enrollment of 108 students. The deadline for submitting applications is February 14, 2023.

Young Artist at Morse Continue Self Portraits Inspired by Artist Frida Kahlo
First graders continued their artistic endeavors as they worked on their self-portraits with Mrs. Dietz. Their work is inspired by Mexican Artist Frida Kahlo, a master self-portrait painter who painted with vibrant color to let her personality shine through.

Exploring the Depths: Mr. Berger's Geology Class Visits Lamont Doherty Observatory
Students in Mr. Berger's 11th and 12th grade Geology class recently took their second field trip of the year, visiting the Lamont Doherty Observatory. The students were treated to a lecture from renowned climate scientist Margie Turin, who specializes in the study of glaciers in Greenland and Antarctica.

It is with great pride that we announce that three of our Sleepy Hollow High School seniors will be a part of the Katonah Museum of Art's Young Artists Exhibition 2023. Paul Myers, Frankie Morabito, and Christine Kern will have their artwork displayed for all to see and admire.

Middle School Band and Orchestra Participates in the Rivertown’s Middle School Music Festival
Students from the Sleepy Hollow Middle School Band and Orchestra will join students from Peekskill, Ossining and Croton in the fourteenth Annual Rivertown’s Music Festival. The students will participate in a 2-day festival culminating in a concert on Saturday February 4th at 2:00 PM in the Ossining High School Auditorium.
