Students attend Center for Global Engagement Lecture Series

Members of Rho Kappa and students from the Contemporary Issues class participated in a lecture led by David Phillips, resident of Irvington, Director of Peace -building Rights Program of the Institute for the Study of Human Rights at Columbia University, author of many books.  Mr. Phillips' resume is very impressive having served as Senior Advisor in Bill Clinton's State Dept. in addition to working with the Bush Administration.  The title of the lecture was "Platforms on Foreign Affairs of the Presidential Candidates," but the students learned about a range of schools of thought when it comes to foreign policy in many parts of the globe - Syria, Darfur, Iraq, Russia, Turkey, and North Korea.  The lecture was followed by a Q & A session and a reception.  Mr. Phillips complimented our students for their excellent questions and genuine interest.
