Teatown Lake Reservation Visits WI With Some Friends

The third graders at Washington Irving were treated to an animal assembly presented by representatives from Teatown. Students learned about native Hudson Valley animal species including a salamander, turtle, 6 foot snake, falcon, owl, and an opossum. Third grader Christal Rojas said, “I learned a lot about different turtles and got to see its backbone inside its shell!“ Tadeo Quezada says, "I loved to learn about the opossum and we got to see it eat lots of different foods!" This assembly kicked off an extensive animal research study that third graders will begin in the new year.
