Bright eyed students couldn’t stop playing games Wednesday night, when their smiles and skill filled the WL Morse gymnasium and cafeteria at the annual Morse and John Paulding Family Math Night.
Students from kindergarten through second game played games like Subtraction Bowling, Connect Four, and Coloring Addition. The children also built shapes and played a hopscotch-like game called Dance, Dance, Math.
Family Math Night has been taking place in the District for more than a decade. The event brings the community together and one of its goals is to make sure the fun won’t end when the kids leave. “The night shows parents the fun activities that they can do at home,” said K-2 Staff Developer Kristie Martinez. “This is my favorite night. It is so much fun.”
Sleepy Hollow High School students who are members of the Math Honor Society helped run the games with faculty and staff members.
