Mrs. Dietz's first and second grade art classes have been hard at work creating a beautiful mural to permanently display at Morse school. Each class read the children's book "The Dot" by Peter H. Reynolds. The story is about a little girl named Vashti who goes to art class and just doesn't know what to draw. Her art teacher suggests, "just make a mark and see where it takes you!" Vashti puts a dot on her paper and becomes inspired to make more dots in all different colors and sizes. First and second graders were encouraged to be creative just like Vashti and create their very own dot to add to our mural.
