WESEF Winners

WESEF Winners:

 Congratulations to all of 14 of our Sleepy Hollow High School students who competed in the Regeneron Westchester Science and Engineering Fair on Saturday, March 16 at Sleepy Hollow High School.  

Approximately 600 students from Westchester and Putnam Counties competed in the event where they presented their science research projects and were judged five times by five different judges.  

Special congratulations to the following students who were recognized for their outstanding science research and who received the following awards:

  • Stella Vercesi - American Meteorological Society Award
  • Ella McGovern - Innovations in Biological Sciences Research Award
  • Samantha Livingston - Think STEAM Award
  • Matthew Silver - Excellence in Medical Research Award
  • Maya Millstein - Office of Naval Research Award
  • Eliza Grose - Samuel C. Klagsbrun Behavioral Health Award
  • Anna Lazin - Cornell University Food Science Award

Additional award recipients:

  • Stella Vercesi - 4th place in Animal Science.
  • Helen Tejada  - 4th place in Biochemistry.
  • Emma Guarnieri - 3rd place in Behavioral Science.
  • Casey Oppenheim  - 3rd place in Behavioral Science.
  • Tess Kaplan - 2nd place in Behavioral Science.
  • Molly Brennan - 1st place in Animal Science and has won a spot to compete at the International Genius Olympiad.

The students have been working under the guidance of Michele Zielinski and David Erenberg.
