The scene is the town Paw, Paw, Michigan where thirteen-year-old Edwina Spoonapple provides musical advice to family and friends from her garage – hoping to find her place in the spotlight.
Washington Irving students presented the musical “Dear Edwina”, on March 14, as part of the Tarrytown Y Theater Program.
Edwina’s desire to be part of the Kalamazoo Advice-a-Palooza Festival is the backdrop of the musical. While her siblings have proof of their accomplishments, Edwina does not. When a talent scout from the convention visits her hometown, she trots out her musical advice, assisted by her older siblings, quirky friends and neighbors. Together, they set out to tackle the world's problems – just about everything from birthday party etiquette to proper table settings.
Thank you to Producer Barbara Turk, for her dedication as she completed her final production with the Y and Director Sione Owen, who provided a question and answer period after the show with the students.
