Faculty and students from the ENL Ambassador Club shared the Tarrytown BASICS on June 1, at the TasSH Farmers Market. They interacted one-on-one with families in the community to share the Five Basics. Activities included: read alouds, finger plays/songs, play dough and a teddy bear station. All activities highlighted how for families to support our young learners in developing their readiness skills.
The initiative called Tarrytown/Sleepy Hollow Basics teaches five principles: Maximize Love and Manage Stress, Talk, Sing, and Point, Count, Group, and Compare, Explore through Movement and Play, Read and Discuss Stories.
