I am writing to provide an additional update regarding Morse and Washington Irving Schools. The Department of Health (DOH) has completed its contact tracing procedures and investigation. All potential exposures have been contacted and either informed that they can resume their normal activities or have been required to quarantine. As a result, and in consultation with the DOH, both Morse and Washington Irving will resume hybrid in-person instruction for all staff and Cohort B students tomorrow, Friday, October 2, 2020.
While the district respects the privacy of any person who may have been exposed to COVID-19, we are voluntarily making you aware that the following administrators are among those who will be quarantining: WI Principal Tom Holland, WI Assistant Principal Sharon O’Grady, Morse Principal Tory Walley, Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Services Scott Dorn, and Assistant Superintendent for Administration and Instruction Gail Duffy. Each administrator will work remotely through the quarantine period and a district administrator will be present at both Morse and Washington Irving during each instructional day.
We would like to thank everyone for their patience and flexibility as we worked through these necessary processes to ensure the health and safety of our students, staff, and community. Should you have any questions, please contact Mr. Dorn at 914-332-6253.
