Today, while in session, the District was informed that a Sleepy Hollow Middle School employee tested positive for COVID-19. Due to the timing, and the shared staff and facility, it was decided to dismiss both Sleepy Hollow Middle and High School at 1:00PM. The District has notified the Westchester County Department of Health, who is responsible for contact tracing. Our District COVID Coordinator, Scott Dorn, is working with the Department of Health on the implementation of this process. The employee is currently in quarantine and the District will notify all those who were potentially exposed by 6:00PM today.
Out of an abundance of caution, and to allow time for the proper implementation of the contact tracing process, all Sleepy Hollow Middle and High School students and staff will work remotely on Wednesday, October 14 and Thursday, October 15. The building will also receive an additional deep cleaning and sanitizing. We will provide additional updates as they become available.
