Two John Paulding employees, one Washington Irving student, and two Sleepy Hollow High School students have reported positive COVID-19 test results to the District. The District has notified the Westchester County Department of Health, who is responsible for contact tracing. Our District COVID Coordinator, Scott Dorn, is working with the Department of Health on the implementation of this process. The Washington Irving student, one John Paulding employee, and one Sleepy Hollow High School student have not been in school since the Holiday Recess so there were no potential exposures to be notified by the District. However, the other John Paulding employee and Sleepy Hollow High School student have been in school. Mr. Dorn’s office will notify those John Paulding and Sleepy Hollow High School students and employees who were potentially exposed by 6:00PM. The COVID positive employees and students are currently in quarantine.
Additionally, John Paulding will switch to an all-remote instructional model through Friday, January 8, 2021. This is due to a large number of faculty and staff required to quarantine by the DOH, greatly inhibiting our ability to conduct in-person instruction. We will provide an additional update regarding John Paulding on Friday.
Should you have any questions, please contact Mr. Dorn at 914-332-6253.
