January 21, 2021 - Message from the Superintendent - WI, SHMS/HS

January 21, 2021

Dear TUFSD Families & Staff,

One Washington Irving student, one Sleepy Hollow High School, and two Sleepy Hollow Middle School students have reported positive COVID-19 test results to the District. The District has notified the Westchester County Department of Health, who is responsible for contact tracing. Our District COVID Coordinator, Scott Dorn, is working with the Department of Health on the implementation of this process. The Washington Irving student is fully remote. However, the Sleepy Hollow Middle and High School students have been in school. Mr. Dorn’s office will notify those Sleepy Hollow Middle and High School students and employees who are considered close contacts by 7:00PM. The COVID positive students are currently in quarantine.

Additionally, Sleepy Hollow Middle School will switch to an all-remote instructional model for Friday, January 22, 2021. This is due to a large number of faculty and staff required to quarantine by the DOH, greatly inhibiting our ability to conduct in-person instruction.  We will provide an additional update regarding Sleepy Hollow Middle School on Sunday.

Should you have any questions, please contact Mr. Dorn at 914-332-6253.

Sincerely,

Christopher Borsari

Superintendent
