Culture, our last Social Studies Unit, is the perfect culminating unit for our third graders. In this unit, students learn about the different aspects of culture and its influence on daily life. They discussed and compared different cultures around the world, getting to see how each cultural difference makes us all unique. As our final project, we focused on our own cultural history. Students were able to interview their parents, research their own cultures and share with their classmates their own cultural heritage. It was beautiful to see how many different cultures we had in our classroom! From Taiwan, Morocco, and Iraq to Perú, Ecuador and the Dominican Republic, we realized our classroom is a beautiful mosaic of many traditions and beliefs. We hope you enjoy our project as much as we did!
