SHHS Drama Performs to Packed Houses

Arsenic and Old Lace, a dark comedy that was a huge hit in the 1940’s, captivated audiences during the performances of Sleepy Hollow High School students this weekend.

Actors say they found the show challenging, but a great deal of fun. They also say that they couldn't be successful without their tight-knit and supportive cast and crew.

“I love being on stage and putting on a great show,” said Sasha Grose, who plays Reverend Dr. Harper. “But being backstage and struggling together, making each other laugh, that is so much more important.”

Maya Batheja, who plays Elaine Harper agrees. “The theater experience gives you a sense of community and joy that you don't find anywhere else,” she said. “When you watch the crowd enjoy the show, it’s a great feeling and we know that we did this together.”
