National Honor Society Induction Ceremony

The Sleepy Hollow High School Chapter of the National Honor Society welcomed more than 80 new members during its fall induction ceremony. Students who show superiority in scholarship, leadership, and character are invited to apply for this prestigious organization.

At a ceremony on October 24th, Sleepy Hollow juniors and seniors participated in a candlelight ceremony.  They used gift pens from the National Honor Society to sign in our chapter’s register, then ascended stairs to the risers, where lit candle in hand, they recited a pledge to continue to strive for excellence.

SHHS alumna Imani Ford spoke to the students about her educational journey at Lafayette College where, last May, she was conferred a degree in Government and Law and a minor in Latin American and Caribbean Studies.  She plans to attend law school in the fall of 2020.

Ms. Ford remains active as site director for the “Let’s Get Ready” program that offers free SAT prep and college admissions counseling to first generation students at SHHS.

Thank you to advisor Phoebe Rosenwasser for guiding the students and organizing the ceremony.
