Sleepy Hollow High School students celebrate Poetry Month

On Friday, April 22, Sleepy Hollow High School students from Katherine Donahue’s Creative Writing class and Literary Magazine Club visited Bethany Arts Community in Ossining for a poetry workshop led by teaching artist Maddy Clifford, aka “MADLines.” The students were led through a series of brainstorming and open conversations about the definitions of poetry and were given time to create their own work which was shared with the class. When asked what two gems they would take away from the experience, the students expressed that "Poetry is urgent" and the importance of "writing every day."

Thank you to The Pocantico Center of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund for their partnership in supporting this workshop.
