SHHS Graduation

Dear Families of the Class of 2022,

 

As you know, graduation is scheduled for this Thursday, 6/23 at 6:30 p.m. on the Doc Rasbeck Athletic Field at Sleepy Hollow High School.  We wanted to send families a few reminders and some relevant information:

 

  • All seniors must attend graduation practice at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, 6/23 in order to receive their diploma at the ceremony. Students will also be receiving honor cords, tickets in the event that inclement weather requires we have an indoor ceremony, and other important materials. Students should be on time and meet in the auditorium. The practice will be followed by a luncheon sponsored by the junior class. We should be done by approximately 1:30 p.m.
  • Students who have any outstanding fines, including their senior fee, will need to pay by graduation rehearsal. Students who do not pay will not receive their diploma at the ceremony.
  • All graduates should arrive for graduation by 5:00 p.m., and report to the auditorium.
  • Should there be inclement weather on Thursday, the ceremony will take place in the auditorium at 6:30 p.m. A decision will be made and communicated to families by 3 p.m. that day. Each graduate will receive two tickets for inside the auditorium and three tickets for a simulcast presentation in the high school gymnasium. In addition, the event will be livestreamed so that people can watch the ceremony from a separate location. The livestream link is at https://events.locallive.tv/events/83276. This link will also be available on the school website.
  • No balloons will be allowed in the seating area. Our ushers will arrange for alternate placement of the balloons during the ceremony. You will be able to pick them up after the ceremony.  
  • If you or one of your guests requires handicapped parking, please contact the main office before 3 p.m. Wednesday.  You can reach the office by calling (914) 332-6205.
  • All families who wish to listen to the ceremony in Spanish should plan to do so on a personal device (such as a cell phone) with headphones on. All major speeches will be streamed on http://www.sleepyhollowradio.com/.  For students who requested headphones, coupons to pick up the headphones will be provided at graduation practice. Anyone who borrows headphones should return them at the end of the ceremony.
  • We ask that all families with small children who will need to use an electronic device to entertain their child bring headphones for that device so that we can keep distractions to a minimum for those sitting nearby.

Estimadas familias de la clase de 2022:

 

Como ustedes saben, la graduación está programada para este jueves 23 de junio a las 6:30 p.m. en el campo deportivo Doc Rasbeck en la escuela secundaria Sleepy Hollow.  Queríamos enviarles a las familias algunos recordatorios e información:

 

  • Todos los estudiantes de último año deben asistir a la práctica de graduación a las 

9:30 a.m. el jueves, 23 de junio para poder recibir su diploma en la ceremonia. Los estudiantes también recibirán cordones de honor, boletos en caso de que las inclemencias del tiempo requieran que tengamos una ceremonia adentro, y otros materiales importantes. Los estudiantes deben ser puntuales y reunirse en el auditorio. La práctica será seguida por un almuerzo patrocinado por la clase del grado 11. Deberíamos terminar aproximadamente a la 1:30 p.m.

  • Los estudiantes que tengan deudas pendientes, incluyendo la cuota del último año, deberán pagarlo antes del ensayo de graduación. Los estudiantes que no paguen no recibirán su diploma en la ceremonia.
  • En caso de mal tiempo, la ceremonia se llevará a cabo en el auditorio a las 6:30 p.m. Se tomará una decisión y se comunicará a las familias a las 3:00 p.m. de ese día. Cada graduado recibirá dos boletos para el auditorio y tres boletos para una presentación en el gimnasio de la escuela secundaria. Además, el evento se transmitirá en vivo para que las personas puedan ver la ceremonia desde un lugar separado. El enlace de transmisión en vivo está en https://events.locallive.tv/events/83276.   • No se permitirán globos en el área de asientos. Nuestros acomodadores organizarán la colocación alternativa de los globos durante la ceremonia. Podrás recogerlos después de la ceremonia.   
  • Todos los graduados deben llegar a la graduación a las 5:00 p.m. y presentarse en el auditorio.
  • Si usted o uno de sus invitados necesita un estacionamiento para los discapacitados, póngase en contacto con la oficina principal antes de las 3:00 p.m. el miércoles.  Puede ponerse en contacto con la oficina llamando al (914) 332-6205.
  • Todas las familias que deseen escuchar la ceremonia en español deben planear hacerlo en un dispositivo personal (como un teléfono celular) con audífonos puestos.Todos los discursos principales se transmitirán en http://www.sleepyhollowradio.com/.  Para los estudiantes que pidieron audífonos, los cupones para recoger los audífonos se proporcionarán en la práctica de graduación. Cualquier persona que preste los audífonos deberá devolverlos al final de la ceremonia.
  • Pedimos a todas las familias con niños pequeños que necesiten usar un dispositivo electrónico para entretener a sus hijos que traigan audífonos para su dispositivo, de modo que podamos mantener las distracciones al mínimo para los que están sentados a su lado.
